Facing problems of candle wax removal; the messy spots, dots,
dumplings or strands of dripping candle wax... Just relax and read
on!
Candle light dinners and parties are very romantic, but the romance
vanishes the moment you have to consider candle wax removal from
the tablecloth, carpets and glass, once the party is over. Of course,
fabulous candles are a great way to enhance the otherwise lackluster
ambience of a room. They add a touch of class, romance and warmth
to your room. But they also end up depositing a good amount of dripping
wax onto your tablecloth or carpet. Thinking of the easiest and
safest way out of this problem without resorting to the use of harmful
chemicals for wax removal! Here are some:
Usually, even if you follow the most scientific technique of candle
wax removal, it will certainly leave behind an oily residue. The
most popular and common procedure for wax removal from the tablecloth
is to place the stained area between clean paper towels and iron
it with a low to medium warm iron. But remember to use a dry iron,
not the steam one! The wax will melt and stick to the cleaning towel.
Easy! Isn't it?
Candle wax removal from the carpet is slightly different. For this
purpose, you have to put in a little more effort. Using a blunt
knife, just scrape off all the wax from the surface and brush it
off. You can use the iron method for wax removal from the carpet
as well. Place a number of paper towels on the stained area of the
carpet and iron lightly with a low to medium warm dry iron. The
paper towels will absorb all the wax. If the stain is spread over
a large area, then change the paper towels frequently or the stains
will just get transferred from one to another area! If the stain
is caused by colored candle wax, then avoid the use of warm iron
for candle wax removal. On heating, the wax dye will penetrate deeper
into the fabric and set permanently. Instead, use the scraping method
and clean the spot with a mild cleaning agent.
Another very simple method to remove wax is to pour drops of water
over the dripping wax and it will never stick to the surface!
