Mimic candle light using candle lamps
Candle lamps is a casual name used to describe light bulbs that
are designed to mimic the size, shape and glow of a candle flame.
These bulbs are usually fitted into the candle holders of electric
candle centerpieces, novelty items such as the Glow In The Dark
Jesus, freestanding table and floor lamps, chandeliers and wall
mounted electric candle sconces. Sometimes the bulbs used to light
up strings of Christmas lights are also referred to as candle lamps.
Candle lamps come in a variety of styles and colors although the
primary colored bulbs are usually used for christmas lights, imitation
christmas candles and novelty items.
Candle lamps that imitate candle flames are used in window lamps,
chandeliers, freestanding lamps and electric hanging chandeliers.
These bulbs are often white but some are golden or a warm yellow
in color. Candle lamps for chandeliers and free
standing lamps can be frosted, ribbed, ridged or twisted to resemble
a candle flame. They can be a symmetrical tear shape or boast a
tip that curves to one side just like a genuine burning flame.
Popular manufacturers of candle lamps are Lassen Solitude, Windstone
and the Candle Lamp Company.
A new trend in candle lamps is the candle-like Candela lamps which
are cones that are recharged on a battery base. These white plastic
pillars which can be compared to an oversized candle flame mimic
the effect of genuine candlelight.
